Cold Coffee Cocktails for Warm Summer Evenings

By Joe Cox

Cold Coffee Cocktails for Warm Summer Evenings

We’re leaving the office well behind in this the second part of this little Office Beverages introduction to coffee based cocktails. Coffee’s distinctive and inimitable flavour was always going to inspire mixologists to experiment and come up with some absolutely incredible combinations of flavours. Coffee cocktails are a wonderful way to enjoy the amazing flavour of coffee but with an alcoholic twist, in the setting of a classy cocktail bar or after a lovely meal out. I will fully admit to being very partial to an Irish Coffee but without doubt my all-time favourite is the Espresso Martini. So here is our second selection of coffee based concoctions and this time it’s the cold variety. Office Beverages and I would like to insist that you enjoy drinking alcohol responsibly.

Espresso Martini

 My personal favourite, these fantastic drinks are pretty moreish. The cold espresso shot dominates the flavour and is what gives this martini its kick. It’ll certainly perk you up after a long weary day that’s for sure.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 1/2 oz vodka

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/4 oz white creme de cacao

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 oz cold espresso

Caramel Latte

Perhaps it is the caramel vodka or perhaps it is the cholive chocolate garnish that gives this drink it’s delectable quality. I happen to think it’s probably the coffee but without doubt this is definitely one for the sweet toothed.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 1/2 oz Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/2 oz Espresso

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/2 oz Half & Half

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Cholive for garnish

Vineyard Nectar

This is certainly a strange one and I wouldn’t have thought that wine and coffee would mix but this is apparently a fine cocktail to enjoy as a digestive after a sweet desert.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 cup cold coffee

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->2 oz Muscatel wine

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->2 tsp sugar

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/2 tsp grated orange peel

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Pinch of cinnamon

Amaretto Crinkle

Again we see the complimentary flavours of amaretto sitting alongside coffee except this time in cold drink. Lots of crushed ice and the sweet vanilla taste underpinning the whole drink this is one to enjoy whilst sat in the shade in your garden on a hot summers day.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->3 cups coffee, cold

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->2 cups vanilla ice cream

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 cup milk

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1/4 cup Amaretto

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->2 tsp vanilla

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->1 tsp almond extract

<!--[if !supportLists]-->·         <!--[endif]-->Crushed ice
